Is this task-based job a scam?

Almost certainly. “Task” or “app optimisation” jobs — where you earn commission by clicking, liking, or “rating” items on a website — are a fast-growing scam. It starts with small real-looking payouts, then requires you to deposit your own money (often crypto) to “unlock” higher-paying task sets or fix a “negative balance.” The deposits vanish, and the promised earnings and “withdrawals” never arrive.

A legitimate job never asks you to pay money to work, never pays commission for meaningless clicks, and doesn't recruit by cold text or WhatsApp. Real employers don't require crypto deposits to release your wages. If you've been asked to top up a balance to keep earning, stop — that's the scam. Paste any “task platform” link into a scam check before depositing a cent, and don't send more to recover what you've lost.

1. You must deposit money to earn

Paying to unlock tasks or clear a “negative balance” is the whole scam.

2. Recruited by random text or WhatsApp

Real jobs don't cold-message you with “easy daily income.”

3. Commission for clicks, likes, or “ratings”

No legitimate business pays for meaningless micro-tasks.

4. Small early payouts, then a “top up” wall

First payments build trust before they ask for your money.
