They charge for something you can do yourself for free, harvest your Federal Student Aid login, and sometimes reroute your real payments to themselves.
Legitimate federal loan help is free and lives on studentaid.gov; the government and your official loan servicer never charge a fee to enrol in forgiveness or repayment programs, and never ask for your FSA ID password by text or on a third-party site.
